Christ the King Sunday
______________________________________________________________________________________________
PRELUDE & QUIET MEDITATION
On the Christ the King Sunday, let us be truly thankful for all of God's Blessings in our lives.
(Then, listening quietly to the Prelude, prepare yourself
for Worship with a time of silent prayer, and meditation.)

CALL TO WORSHIP
(Psalm 100)
Leader: Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth.
People: Worship the LORD with gladness; come into his presence with singing.
Leader: Know that the LORD is God. It is he that made us, and we are his people,
and the sheep of his pasture.
People: Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give
thanks to him, bless his name.
All: For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his
faithfulness to all generations. Let us worship our God.
THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
(in unison)
Gracious God, in the company of your people, we confess our sins to you.
We have been angry and impatient, complaining about the faults of others,
and failing to see our own. We have been lazy and selfish, neglecting the
interests of others, and pursuing our own. We have been faithless and
unworthy, ignoring the strength you offer and relying upon our own. God
of mercy, you have promised your grace to those who truly repent. Help
us to accept your forgiveness, and dwell in us by your Spirit; through Jesus
Christ our Lord. Amen.
(Followed by a moment of silent prayer.)
ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
Leader: The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting. I declare to you,
in the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. May the God of mercy, who
forgives you all your sins, strengthen you in all goodness, and by the power
of the Holy Spirit keep you in eternal life.
People: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. Let us forgive one another.
Amen.
